I am so very humbled.

by Kris Bella

I am so very humbled. As an artist, I understand how the creative process can be so freeing. It can take one to another place and time. As an art therapist, I understand the health benefits of creating art, psychologically and physically. It can truly reduce stress and provide respite from the burdens of life. As an arts based business owner, I understand the importance of providing space for creatives to showcase and sell. It can be the first time for someone to reap the benefits of their passion and hard work.

Now, as I sit here at Arte Soleil, as a human being, I am in awe. I am humbled by the level of gratitude I have been receiving by students, colleagues, friends, family and strangers. My heart is singing and dancing. My son told me how he is impressed with my ability to help others. The further we talked, I realized what I am doing is respecting each and every individual I meet. It seems so simple however I am afraid many people do not experience it as often as they should. People deserve authentic interactions so they can be seen, heard and understood.

When on a creative journey, vulnerability may often join. Fear and uncertainty of being accepted may emerge. I am honored to be able to offer a studio space for imagination to emerge, for like minded people to connect, for exploration and curiosity to be nourished, for each of us to know we belong.

Thank you

  1. Nice read and it hit a nail for me.
As I emerge to my most authentic self and creative spirit, I’ve found it more difficult than I thought my artistic processes would be. I’m coming from a place of 1 dimension people who don’t see art everywhere. SO glad I found you and this venue to be truly free in my heart and art. As Deepak says….”Let Go. Flow”

  2. “People deserve authentic interactions so they can be seen, heard and understood.” Perfectly expressed, Kris. Connection is key: with ourselves, one another and our world. Today’s uni-focus on screens promotes separation and division vs. sharing, acknowledging and creating the give-and-take of conversation and “authentic interactions”. Let us each be models of connection with our hearts, souls, art, and one another, creating the world we wish to inhabit.
Blessings and much gratitude to you and Pete for Arte Soleil.

  3. Kris, I’ve never known you to be anything other than an authentic human being. Even in places it wasn’t always safe, you still were present and respectful. So happy you’ve found another place and time to do your sou’s work.
